Online poker room raises its ad game
PKR partners with IGA Worldwide enabling advertisers to target online poker players
Revolutionary 3D poker room PKR.com has announced an exclusive agreement with IGA Worldwide to place in-game ads across PKR.com’s play money tables. The ads will reach up to 60,000 players each day from PKR.com’s customer base of over 600,000.
Key space within PKR’s 3D poker environment has been converted into high visibility ad space in the form of virtual wall posters and logos that will appear on poker tables. IGA Worldwide’s proprietary technology will also be delivering 15 and 30-second video ad breaks between games in PKR’s free-to-play mode as part of the deal, in a way that no player is over-exposed to the same message. Ads can also be easily updated to reflect any product or messaging changes during the life of the campaign. Players participating in real money games and tournaments will not be exposed to advertising.
PKR.com’s play money tables will join IGA Worldwide’s network of over 50 gaming titles, including major games publishers like EA, Atari, Valve and Codemasters. The deal will also add to the 200 million plus impressions that the company generates for leading brands such as Fox, MTV, Intel and T-Mobile.
“Advertising on PKR.com will target the crucial 18-35-year-old male demographic providing a great opportunity to market everything from the latest gadgets to men’s grooming products,” said Simon Prodger, Marketing Director at PKR. “Online poker has seen exponential growth in the past year and we’ve been focused on creating as realistic an environment as possible. Advertising will enhance the player’s experience by further replicating real-world poker.”
Justin Townsend, CEO of IGA Worldwide said, “This partnership sees the launch of another exciting and valuable vertical in our already leading in-game advertising network by including one of this year’s hottest gaming titles. Now advertisers are able to capitalise on the poker craze and reap the rewards marketers have already experienced in other genres. In today’s fragmented media environment we’re seeing advertisers increasingly turning to in-game advertising as traditional formats fail to deliver. By consistently increasing our reach and broadening the game genres and opportunity types in our network, we open this highly effective and measurable channel to an increasing array of premium advertisers.”
