Justin Townsend

Chief Volunteer Officer and Co-founder, IGA Worldwide

Justin Townsend, Chairman and Co-founder of IGA Worldwide is one of the figureheads in the in-game advertising industry. A pioneer of digital advertising with over 15 years of relevant experience, Townsend has worked in a number of senior roles at a variety of global media organizations.

Before founding IGA, Townsend was responsible for developing the digital element of global advertising conglomerate McCann-Erickson from their Berlin office. Initially director of consulting for digital media at Zentropy Partners, (McCann Erickson World Group), Townsend was swiftly promoted to Head of Online at McCann-Erickson Berlin.

His achievements include spearheading the successful launch of the agency’s first ever interactive division, helping to establish the agency’s first ever integrated agency worldwide which became the market leader in Europe within just three years, and overseeing key blue chip accounts such as GM, Fujitsu Siemens, MasterCard, Siemens Mobile, Motorola and Deutsche Bank.

Townsend has also held senior positions at Meome AG and BBME Interactive and helped establish Europe’s first digital Internet radio station.

In 2004, Townsend founded IGA Worldwide, the global leader in 360 degree in-game advertising solutions. Having established a proprietary ad serving network, Radial, Townsend led the Series A VC round which secured $17 million funding in 2006 and also saw IGA Worldwide recognized separately as the ‘Breakout Company of the Year 2006’ and as a ‘Top 100 Private Company’ in the media and entertainment sector for two consecutive years.
